Training Update 10/3/15

Training for this week and onwards, unless advised otherwise, will be on a Tuesday and Thursday night.

The senior squad, including new players and those from the social grades that want to play higher, are to meet at University Oval (corner War Memorial and Sir Edwin Smith Drive, North Adelaide), ready to commence training at 6:00pm. This squad may be reduced if numbers are high, with players who are well known to coaches, or are returning from injury, requested to join the social grades training so as others can be looked at. This will be advised on the night.

The social grades are to meet at Park 10 (corner MacKinnon Parade and Bundeys Road, North Adelaide), ready to commence training at 6:15pm. The main Park 10 oval will not be available until 6:30pm at present, due to runners having a booking, so please be aware of this when looking to warm up.

Any questions in relation to the above training days/times/venues/splits, feel free to ask.

Cheers,

Training in 2015

Gents,

Just a heads up that the groups have now split, so there will be a distinct difference in the groups with the Senior squad all training together, and the Social grades training separate.

To assist in this, as many coaches as possible are requested to start attending trainings so as there is sufficient guidance for the players that attend trainings.

All players are also encouraged to commence attending training so as the small things such as registration, playing apparel, etc., can be sorted, as well as the more important matters, such as advising of the social calendar and organising post-training pub dinners.

All players are encouraged to meet at University Oval (corner Sir Edwin Smith and War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide), ready to commence training at 6:00pm on Monday and Wednesday nights until further notice. If you arrive at University Oval, and there is no-one around, please next check at Park 10 (corner MacKinnon Parade and Bundeys Road, North Adelaide). If you still can not find the training groups, feel free to call me on my mobile.

A reminder that boots are not permitted on the ovals while cricket season is still running, and to make sure to hydrate ahead of trainings, regardless of the weather forecast.

Any questions in relation to the above, feel free to ask.

Cheers,

Wayne Abrey

Post Season Summary

No premiership cigars for the AUFC in season 2014, but it was an entertaining journey as always. Read all about it in the last Substandard of 2014 here. Reminder Annual Dinner is on Friday October 17 at the Havey.

Substandard GRAND FINAL Edition

Forecast 22 and fine. Payneham Oval at 10am. PLEASE. Substandard click here, Chardonnays match report a classic.

GRAND FINAL FEVER

Our surprisingly positive September continued last Saturday with both the C-Men (C grade) and Chardonnay Socialists (D grade) posting fantastic victories away from home against their more fancied opponents to go through to the big dance. More on that in Substandard on Friday, but for now just note that both games will be held at PAYNEHAM OVAL, WITH THE D GRADE AT 10AM AND THE C GRADE 12PM. Lets get a huge Blacks crowd at the oval in full voice to get the good guys over the line in what will be two very challenging Grand Finals. Then all welcome back at the Havey for Hold your Bowlies.

Then Sunday, for the players and officials, it is Super Sunday. 10am at Uni Oval for photos then the Havey at midday for the Best & Fairest count and associated singing & shenanigans to finish the season on a high note. Big weekend!
