SUBS 2015 - Deadline 14 May

Greetings Blackers,

Now that we are all back on deck after holidays it’s time of the year when we need to start collecting Subscriptions for season 2015.

Subs this year are $180 for students (any University) or $268 for non-students, the difference being the $88 Adelaide University Sports Associate membership that we must purchase for non-AU Students.

This is for the men's and ladies teams. The ladies Subscriptions are $120 for students and $208 for non-students due to a smaller playing season than the men's.

We are using the Adelaide Uni Sport system via www.theblacks.com.au for payments again this year. This will enable you all to be immediately registered through Adelaide University sport, which is beneficial to the club in a number of ways and also is also very important for any insurance claims that you may need to make.

In order to pay Subs please click on the link below, and follow the instructions which best describe you (also below). You will need to register with some basic details (or use your rego details from last year) and you can pay online via debit card (PayPal) or credit card (visa or MasterCard).
https://www.theblacks.com.au/Store/ClubRequirements.aspx?GID=2195

If you are a current Adelaide University Student in one of the Men's Teams you must purchase:
AU Football Club - 2015 Student (AU STUDENT) [$180]
AND
AU Sport Membership - AU students only [$0]
If you are a current University Student (not from Adelaide University) in one of the Men's Teams you must purchase:
AU Football Club - 2015 Student (NON AU STUDENT) Membership [$92]
AND
AU Sport Membership - University Member (Alumni, Staff or student from another University) [$88]
If you are not a current University Student in one of the Men's Teams you must purchase:
AU Football Club - 2015 Non-student Membership [$180]
AND
AU Sport Membership - University Member (Alumni, Staff or student from another University)[$88]
OR
AU Sport Membership - Associate Member (No association to any University)[$88]
If you are a current Adelaide University Student in the Women's Team you must purchase:
AU Football Club - 2015 Student (AU STUDENT) (Women's Membership)[$120]
AND
AU Sport Membership - AU students only [$0]
If you are a current University Student (not from Adelaide University) in the Women's Team you must purchase:
AU Football Club - 2015 Student (NON AU STUDENT) (Women's Membership)[$32]
AND
AU Sport Membership - University Member [$88]
If you are not a current University Student in the Women's Team you must purchase:
AU Football Club - 2015 Non-student (Women's Membership) [$120]
AND
AU Sport Membership - University Member (Alumni, Staff or student from another University)[$88]
OR
AU Sport Membership - Associate Member (No association to any University)[$88]

This should take no longer than a couple of minutes to complete.

The deadline for Subs is Thursday the 14th of May (Thursday fortnight). If you have not paid by that day then you will not be eligible for selection.

The Committee appreciate your assistance in what is a major fundraising exercise for the club, with the proceeds used to meet the substantial costs that we incur in putting 9 teams on the park (foots, umpires, medical equipment, SAAFL calls, insurance premiums etc.) each week.

Lastly, if you can source a Player Sponsor (within the same deadline) at a cost of $400 (potentially tax deductible) then you do not have to pay Subs.

If you have anyone in mind please contact Will Evans on williammgevans@gmail.com or 0417 832 162 for him to follow up.

Thanks again. If there are any problems with paying subs or any queries at all please just let us know.

Fantastic news with Zachary Sheridan being safe and well

Zachary has just arrived in Lobuche & was in Gokyo at the time of the earthquake.
Zachary is safe & really sorry for everyone affected, especially his guide's family.
Communication has been down meaning he could not make contact with anyone until now.

Zach Sheridan missing at Mt Everest.

The AUFC extends our Club’s hopes out to Zachary Sheridan and his family as we all wait to hear news of his safety following the catastrophic earthquakes and avalanches in the Nepal region. Zach is an outstanding young man who’s mateship has impressed everyone he has met at our club. He joined his brother Tom with us in 2013 to play lower grade games. Zach is also known at the club as “Sheridan Sheets” or “Designer Direct”.

We wait with positive faith as does his family. His brother Will has said, “Zachary was trekking with a guide when the quake struck. He said a friend of the family had spoken to someone in the region who told them there were no reported deaths in the area below base camp – where Zachary was thought to be. Phone lines are understood to be down in the area. My feeling is that he is fine and he is with a guide, but the trekking company can’t contact them.”

We will provide updates as information develops. If anyone needs more info please look to the travel section of Dept of Foreign Affairs & Trade at http://dfat.gov.au/ and appropriate news broadcastings.
